Dorothy Louise (Griggs) Armstrong, 76, of South 35th Street, South Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 8, in Bremen Community Hospital from complications of a stroke. Dorothy was born June 10, 1928, in Pulaski, TN. Her parents were Marvin Griggs and Rosie Stone (Brewington). Her father preceded her in death, and her mother is still living, at age 94, in South Bend, Indiana.

Dorothy has five children, Peggy Bloss and Lisa Sylvan, both of Elkhart, Indiana, Steve Temple and Joe Temple, both of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Tammy Valdez of Walkerton, Indiana. She has 12 grandchildren, Jim and Jessy Stambough, Jason Wing, John Jason Garcia, Bianca and Breeanna Temple, Naomi Burkholder, Keturah, Jacob and Seth Lewis, and Brittany and Kelsi Valdez. She has approximately eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Samuel Griggs, and a half sister, Mary Pauline, both of South Bend.

She was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Mishawaka.  Mom, you will be greatly missed -- we love you! Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Morning Star Funerals and Cremations, 21275 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN.
