GRANGER - Anita D. Aretz, 80, of Granger, IN passed away
November 20, 2008 in her home. Born July 3, 1928 in New York, NY,
she was the daughter of the late Jack and Molly (Rosenblatt)
Stern. On May 20, 1973 in South Bend, she married Gary
Aretz. He survives in Granger, IN. She is also survived by her
daughter, Ricki (Jim) McLaughlin of Port Angeles, WA; son,
Bruce (Amy) Becker of Indianapolis, IN; stepdaughter,
Susan (Rabbi Isaac) Farhi of Deal, NJ; stepson, Edward
(Margie) Aretz of Princeton, NJ; thirteen grandchildren; and
fifteen great-grandchildren. Anita was a board certified Interior
Designer. She and Gary owned and operated Aretz Interiors for 37
years. She was very involved in helping animals, especially dogs.
She enjoyed volunteering at Humane and Rescue Societies.
Funeral Services will be held today,
November 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay
Chapel, 4355 Ironwood Dr. at Jefferson. Rabbi Michael Friedland
will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hebrew Orthodox
Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial donations in Anita's memory may be
made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South
Bend, IN 46637.
