Mrs. Opal Louise Archibald, 51,
cherished loved one, who resided on Hamilton Street, South Bend,
Ind., passed away following an illness at 5:30 a.m. Monday, April
1, in Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Opal Louise, daughter
of the late James Edward and Annie Mae (Evans) Fuller,
was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Strong, Ark. Coming from Detroit,
Mich., she moved to South Bend in 1973. She attended Ivy Tech
State College receiving a secretarial degree, and for the past 10
years was an employee of Memorial Hospital. She had previously
worked as a nurse technician at Cardinal Nursing Home.
On July 31, 1993, in South Bend, she and
Charlie Archibald were united in marriage. As a member of St.
Paul Bethel Baptist Church, she served as a missionary, a
childcare and Sunday School teacher. Loving family members
mourning her loss include her husband, Charlie Archibald; four
sons, Marvin (Latrelle) Ayers of Savannah, Ga., Anthony
(Teresa) Ayers of Osceola, Ind., Shawn (Tammie) Lee and
Christopher Hill, both of South Bend; 11 grandchildren,
Shawn, Crystal, Andy, Sharelle, Jasmine, Tiecia, Marvin Jr.,
Anthony Jr., Javonte, Latayshia and Janae; three
great-grandchildren; five sisters, Brenda Faye (Clyde) Foster,
Brenda Joyce Fuller, Lene (Paul) Gaskin, Cynthia Hall
and Patricia "Tess" Fuller; two brothers, James (Betty)
Fuller Jr. and Christopher (Lonnie) Fuller, all of Detroit; along
with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Saturday, April 6,
in St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church, with Reverend Gilbert
Washington officiating. Friends may call one hour before the
services in the church. Interment will follow at Highland
Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
