Sam Annis, 79, of East Calvert
Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Feb.
18, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Sam was
born on March 9, 1925, in Bremen, Ind., to the late Oris and
Addie (Schaeffer) Annis.
On Oct. 30, 1965, in South Bend, he married
the former Judy Raderstorf, who survives. One son, James
Ronald Annis; and two sisters, Beverly Estich and Martha Fisher,
preceded him in death. Along with his loving wife, Judy, he is
survived by three sons, Kevin (Dawn) Annis of South Bend, Charles
(Jill) Annis of Mishawaka, Ryan Annis of Brooklyn Park, Minn.;
three daughters, Cynthia Barrett of Salem, Ore., Gail Chase
of Vancouver, Wash., and Molly Greenwood of Linden, Wash.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Sam has been a lifetime area resident,
graduating from Bremen High School. He proudly served his country
in the United States Marines and earned the rank of Sergeant
while serving two tours. Sam retired from Associates as an
electrician in 1992. He was a lifetime member of the National
Rifle Association.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 22, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel,
3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, with two hours of visitation
beforehand. Rev. Michael Heintz will officiate. Military Rites,
performed by VFW Post 360 and American Legion Post 161, will
follow the service. Donations in memory of Sam Annis may be made
to the donor's choice.
