1, 1925 - Feb. 22, 2010SOUTH BEND - Rose Ann Andrysiak, 84, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, in Memorial Hospital. Rose Ann was born November 1, 1925, in Clinton, IN, to Mary (Roth) and Matthew Lewis Benko. A South Bend resident since primary school, Rose Ann was a graduate of Riley High School. A past employee of White Farm Equipment (Oliver Corp.) and Carlisle Nursing Home, she was primarily a homemaker and mother. On August 5, 1950, in Mishawaka, as Rose Ann Benko, she married Frank William Andrysiak, who preceded her in death on February 22, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Mary (Skolnik) and Michael Roth; paternal grandparents, James and Elisabeth Filchak-Benko; sister-in-law, Jenny Benko; and brother-in-law, Carroll Wagner. Surviving Rose Ann in death are her daughter, Kathleen Marie Star, and sons, Kenneth James Andrysiak and Michael Andrysiak of South Bend. To Matthew David Andrysiak (Revere, MA) and Leslie Michelle Star (South Bend, IN), Rose Ann will always be their "Darling Gramma." Also surviving are her sister, Mary T. Wagner of LaPorte, IN, and brother, Matthew Andrew Benko of Mishawaka, IN; sister-in-law, Dolores Andrysiak, South Bend; several nieces and nephews, including her special nieces, Chris Moryl of LaPorte, IN, and her family, and Barbara DeCocq of South Bend, IN, and special cousins, Larry and Rose Faitak of Chesterton, IN. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, also in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Entombment is to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Rose Ann was a member of Holy Family Parish where she was a member of the choir in years past.
