MISHAWAKA - Clement R. Andries, 88, of Mishawaka passed
away in his home on Tuesday December 18. On November 16, 1919, in
Hansbeke Belgium he was born as the son of Octaaf and Eliza (Van
Ooteghem) Andries. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Clement married Margaret H. Ardeel on
June 1, 1946, and they enjoyed 61 wonderful years together. She
survives, along with their daughter, Rita Lethert of Fairborn,
OH. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Carolyn. He came to
America from Belgium in 1922. Clement was a Veteran of the United
States Army serving during WW II. He was a member of St. Bavo
Catholic Church, the BK Club where he belonged to the Wednesday
Afternoon Belgium Boller's and VFW Post 360. He worked at
Uniroyal for 37 years, retiring in 1977. Clem was a kind, caring
man. He was always willing to help others whenever needed. He was
definitely "one of the good guys" in the world.
Visitation will be held on Thursday,
December 20, from 3 to 7 p.m. with Wake Prayers at 6 p.m., in
Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon, on Friday, December 21,
in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Rev. Barry England will
be officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger, where Military Rites will be by VFW Post
360-American Legion Post 161 Burial Squad. Memorial contributions
may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 5th Street,
Mishawaka, IN 46544.
