Leo Andrick

SOUTH BEND - Leo Andrick of South Bend passed away at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at the age of 92. Leo was born November 29, 1917 in Ober, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, George, his mother Eva, his brothers George Jr., John and Edward, and his sisters Anna, Elizabeth, Agnes and Margaret. On September 7, 1941 in South Bend, Leo married Betty Louise Summersgill who preceded him in death on February 21, 2006 after 64 years of marriage. He is survived by their two children Wendy Lynn Andrick and J. Scott Andrick of South Bend. Leo was a Riley High School graduate class of 1936, a member of the Ballroom Dancing Club, a monogram winner on the school's tennis team, and an avid golfer throughout his life. During World War II he served in Co. C of the U.S. Army 787th Military Police Battalion in the U.S., London and Paris. Leo was co-owner of the South Bend Glass Company from 1959 to 1976, retiring in 1981, and was a longstanding member of the South Bend Elks Lodge #235. Friends may call from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. John Wilson of Southgate Church officiating.
