MISHAWAKA - Robert Andres, 84, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed
away on Monday, March 15, 2010, in his home. Mr. Andres retired
from Gates Chevrolet as Vice President/General Manager. He was
born on May 20, 1925, in Logansport, Indiana, to Ruth and Bruce
Andres, and moved to South Bend from Parma, Ohio, in 1956. On
August 13, 1949, in Shaker Heights, OH, he married Zelma (Pitt)
Andres, who survives. Along with his wife, Zelma, he is survived
by his daughter, Jami Ward of Greenwood, IN; his son, Bruce
Andres of Terre Haute, IN; five grandchildren, Justin Andres,
Eric Andres, Emily Andres, Corey Ward and Joey Ward; two
great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Alexis Ward; and his twin
brother, Richard Andres of Mt. Lebanon, PA. Mr. Andres was a
member of Phi Delta Theta and the Morris Park Country Club, South
Bend. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during
World War II. He met his wife, Zelma, while attending Allegheny
College. After graduation they were married and have enjoyed 60
wonderful years together. Memorial services will be held at a
later date. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, South Bend, and
Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with
