Andrew M. Andert, 76, of Flint Court, passed away at 2:11 p.m. on Friday, March 26, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Mr. Andert retired in 1985 from Sibley's, where he was employed for 20 years. He had also worked for Studebaker for 18 years. Mr. Andert was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the DFV German Club. He was born on Jan. 1, 1923, in South Bend, to Andrew and Elizabeth Andert, who both preceded him in death.

 

On June 1, 1946, in South Bend, he married Vera A. Konter, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Blain and Debby Springer, both of South Bend; six grandchildren, Andy Blain, Brian Blain, Phillip Blain, Scott Springer, Jason Springer, and Adam Springer; a sister, Rose (Ray) Sebelski of South Bend; and two brothers, Frank (Edith) Andert of Osceola, Ind., and William Andert of South Bend.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Internment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble, where a Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
