SOUTH BEND - Stanley J. Anderson, 72, of Nadine Street, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal after an illness. Mr. Anderson was born May 5, 1922, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

He is survived by his former wife, Joan Anderson of South Bend; a daughter, Chris Ross of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Mays and Florence Hobor, both of South Bend; and a brother, Al of Arlington, Texas. A son, Brian, died in 1985.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place with burial in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is in charge of arrangements.
