A Sad Message.
From the Daily Tribune of Monday
Rev. M. B. Lowrie, of Lake City, Minn., who preached for
the Presbyterian congregation in this city yesterday, received a telegram this
morning that his only son, a lad of 14 years, was critically ill. Mr.
Lowrie, who was intending to spend the week visiting among the congregation
here and with his brother, Rev. J. G. Lowrie, of Niles, left for Lake City on
the nine o'clock Grand Trunk train. After the departure a telegram came
that the boy was dead. No further particulars are known. Mr.
Lowrie, of Niles, drove over this morning to meet his brother, but the latter
had already left the city for his home.
