MISHAWAKA - Doyle B. Anderson, 84, formerly of Mishawaka, passed
away at 1:13 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Indiana Veterans
Home in West Lafayette, IN. Doyle was born on August 12, 1925, in
Harvey, IL, to Fred M. and Irene (Laverty) Anderson, who both
preceded him in death. His wife, Sylvia Anderson, on December 31,
1993, his stepfather, Fred Peddicord, one brother, Elgin Anderson
in 1995, and one sister, Colleen Katt in 1995, also preceded
Doyle in death. Doyle retired from Whiting Corporation in 1986
after 43 1/2 years of service. Doyle was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific during World
War II, being honorably discharged on April 23,
1946. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 360 in Mishawaka, and was a member of
First Christian Church of Mishawaka. Doyle is survived by a son,
Doyle B. Anderson Jr. of Greenwood, IN; two daughters, Sharon
(Mike) Springston of Richmond, KY, and Gayle (Dale) Boeke of
Waukee, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Priddy of Mishawaka,
IN; two stepsons, Jeff Britton of South Bend, IN, and Ron Britton
of Harvard, IL; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Kari, Paul, Lisa,
Katie, Becky and Michelle; and six great- grandchildren Doyle was
very proud to have served in the U.S. Navy, and was very proud of
all his children and grandchildren, and he loved his dogs. He
also loved fishing and bowling, and was an avid White Sox fan.
Memorial services for Doyle will be on Saturday, August 28, 2010,
at 2:00 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street,
Mishawaka, with visitation for one hour prior. Rev. Mary Ann
Banning will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Indiana Veterans Home, 3851 N. River Road, West
Lafayette, IN 47906.
