MISHAWAKA - Bertha I. Anderson, 90, of Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, New Carlisle, formerly of Mishawaka, died at 5:13 a.m. Monday in LaPorte Hospital of natural causes. Mrs. Anderson was born April 25, 1904, in Benton Harbor, and lived in South Bend since 1927, coming from Michigan.

On Nov. 14, 1927, in Benton Harbor, as Bertha Olson, she married David Anderson. He died in 1989. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Haas of South Bend; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A son, James E., died in 1988. She was a member of Broadway Christian Parish United Methodist Church, South Bend, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
