Michael Amick, 56, of West Sample Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 6, in Hospice House. Michael was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Fredrick and Myrle (Edmond) Amick. He was a resident of South Bend the last 42 years.

On Oct. 9, 1996, he married Penny in South Bend, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Amanda Amick; two sons, Justin and Nathan Amick, all of South Bend; a sister, Shelly Hay of New Carlisle, Ind.; a sister, Kathy Payne; and his mother, Myrle Amick of South Bend.

Michael was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1965, and Indiana University of South Bend, and received his associate's degree from Ivy Tech. He worked for Unifrax Corporation for 28 years where he was a furnace operator. Michael served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam war veteran.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Hickey Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend.
