MISHAWAKA - Joseph Amaral, 76, of 16th Street, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Countryside Place. Mr. Amaral retired from Uniroyal Plastics in 1974 after 35 years of service. He was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Bristol, R.I.
On June 29, 1946, in Mishawaka, he married Louise Guerra. She survives with a son, Joseph L. of South Bend; a grandson; two sisters, Edwina Nieuwland of Dillwyn, Va., and Mary Ealy of Mishawaka; and a brother, Anibal ``Tony'' of Mishawaka.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Hahn Funeral Home, where wake prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
