SOUTH BEND - Jasmine Mari Alvarez,
17, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2 in her home. Jasmine was born
on August 14, 1991 in South Bend to David Alvarez and Mary Ellen
Joan (Weldy). She is survived by her parents, David
Alvarez of Edinburg, TX and Maryellen Joan (Domingo Jr.) Flores
of South Bend; two brothers, David Alvarez Jr. And Rico Alvarez,
both of Edinburg; two sisters, Marie Alvarez and Brianna Weldy,
both of South Bend; grandparents, Henry (Judy) Weldy of White
Pigeon; great-grandmother, Virginia Weldy-Skiles of
Wakarusa; by her aunts and uncles, Lupe, Paul Jr., Minga, Peter,
Mando, Carlos, Linda Alvarez; uncle, Henry J. Weldy II and by
many cousins. Jasmine was in the 11 grade at Mishawaka High
School where she was an honor roll student. She enjoyed cooking,
being with her younger sister, playing volleyball. She enjoyed
reading and learning. She was a member of Holdeman Mennonite
Church, Wakarusa.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 6 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
on Friday, Nov. 7 in the funeral home. Burial will be at
Riverview Cemetery, South Bend at a later date. Memorial
contributions may be made to the family.
