SOUTH BEND - James D. Allen, 82, of South Bend, Indiana,
passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace
Hospital in South Bend. James was born June 8, 1926, in South
Bend. He retired from Ward Baking Company. Surviving are several
cousins. James was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, was an
Army veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post 8740, and was a life
member of American Legion Post 357.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 920 Wilber Street, South Bend, IN 46628.
