Joseph Alby, age 41, of 910 West Division street, died Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Epworth hospital of pneumonia following a two week’s illness. He was born in this city April 18, 1887. Surviving are his wife, Pearl; three children, Margaret, Irene and Joseph; his stepfather, Anthony Weger, and the following brothers and sisters: Michael, Frank and John Alby, Mrs. Louis Horvath, Mrs. Joseph Hiznay and Mrs. Frank Szigeti, all of South Bend. The body may be viewed in the home of his brother, Michael Alby, 122 South Chapin street. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic church, the Rev. Lawrence Biro, C.S.C., the pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
