Arlene C. Albrecht, 80, passed away
Saturday morning, Sept. 29, in the Holycross Health and
Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka, Ind. Arlene was born Oct. 14,
1920, in Mendoro, Wis., to James and Lulu (Fisher) Barclay.
On May 13, 1948, Arlene married the late
John D. Albrecht. Arlene had worked at Robertson's where she had
retired after 10 years. Faith and family were Arlene's major
devotions throughout her life. A member of Ridgedale Presbyterian
Church for over 30 years, Arlene served as a deacon, participated
in Family Fellowship, Bible studies, and greatly valued her
involvement in the Presbyterian Women's Circle.
Mother of Jane, Mary, Joan and Sarah, she is
also the grandmother of Greg, Kathy, Amanda, David, Elizabeth,
Becky, Chrissy, Roxanne, Grace, John and Katie, and wife of John.
Arlene's loving and gentle spirit will always be with us. Arlene
was an avid watercolor and oil painter, loved to garden and sew,
do crewel embroidery, play cards with her grandchildren, and bake
pies and cookies.
Visitation for Arlene will be from 5 to 8
p.m. today, Oct. 2, in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral
Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street. A Rosary service will be held at
7:30 p.m. this evening in the funeral home. The funeral service
will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Ridgedale
Presbyterian Church, 1406 E. Ewing Street, South Bend, with
calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at
Southlawn Cemetery. Memorials in Arlene's name may be directed to
the American Cancer Society or to the Ridgedale Presbyterian
Church.
