Sister M. Alicena Ader
Sister M. Alicena Ader, CSC, 86, of
Saint Mary's Convent, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the convent
after a lengthy illness. She was born April 16, 1899, as Mary
Catherine Ader in Chebanese, Ill. There are no immediate
survivors. Sister Ader was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1917.
Her date of profession was Aug 15, 1919. She was a music teacher
and was assigned to teach music throughout her community life.
She served at Christ The King School and Holy Cross schools. Her
previous assignments in Indiana were in Logansport, La Porte,
Valparaiso and Anderson. In Illinois she served in Harvard,
Danville, Chatsworth, Morris and Chicago. Other areas were
Lancaster, Pa., Alexandria, Va., and Flint, Mich. She came Saint
Mary's in 1971.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Loretto
Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint
Mary's College. Friends may call today and Wednesday at Saint
Mary's convent Parlors where a wake service will be at 7 p.m.
today. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
