Reverend William Albert Adams, 52,
beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, who resided on
West Fisher Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following a
brief illness at 6:48 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, in Memorial
Hospital. On April 13, 1945, he was born to the union of Lance
and Mary (Newhouse) Adams in Trenton, Tenn. He was
preceded in death by his father, Lance Adams in 1975; his mother,
Mary Adams in 1985; a daughter, Alecia Manuel Peques; a sister,
Irene Adams; and by a brother, Lance Adams, Jr. Coming from
Trenton, he moved to South Bend in 1954.
In 1980, in South Bend, he was married to
Jerrylene Peques. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife
Jerrylene; six daughters, Cheryl Adams, Lori Adams, Sandra Sims
and Carolyn (Eddie) Akins, all of South Bend, Jennifer
Adams and Christine Adams, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; six sons,
Brian, Freddie, Harvey and Eric, all of South Bend, Zachary of
Cincinnati and William of Ogelthorpe, Ga.; 24 grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; seven sisters, Jeanette White of
Nashville, Tenn., Hattie Coley of Mattson, Ill., Virginia
(Tony) Purofoy of Detroit, Mich., Margaret Adams of
Inkster, Mich., Josephine (Robert) Sheppard of South Bend,
Sherry Adams of Cleveland, Ohio, and Florence Adams of Phoenix,
Ariz.; two brothers, Charles (Dollie) Adams of Atlanta, Ga., and
Lawrence (Marie) Adams of Dallas, Texas; along with a host of
other relatives and friends. Reverend Adams had been employed for
the past 12 years as a facilitator for Memorial Home Care
Service. He was also associate pastor of St. Paul Bethel Baptist
Church where he was a member of the board of directors and a
missionary teacher.
Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday
at Alford's Mortuary. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at St.
Paul Bethel Baptist Church.
