Carl W. Adams, 80, of West Marion
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an illness at 2:45
p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka. He was
born March 21, 1923, in Mishawaka, to Truman Glenn Adams and
Maude E. (Gerard) Adams, who preceded him in death.
On Dec. 24, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married
the former Lulu M. Mull, who died in November 1996. He is
survived by his children, Marsha D. Ernest, Kathy S. Lawson
and Barry D. Adams, all of Mishawaka; his sisters, Margaret L. Griffy
of Deming, N.M., and Dorothy P. Putz of Mishawaka; and by
five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Adams had retired from the Bendix
Corporation in 1984 after 43 years of service. He was a member of
the D.A.V. of South Bend, Ind., and was a veteran of World War
II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Adams was known locally as a
marathon runner for several charities. He was an amateur artist
and also competed at table tennis at the Battell Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held
at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North
Main Street, Mishawaka, with burial following at Fairview
Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before services.
