MISHAWAKA - Alice P. Adams, 95, of Mishawaka, passed away
Sunday March 23, 2008 in her residence after a battle with
cancer. Alice was born on February 7, 1913 in Heron, IL, to James
and Elizabeth Pengilley.
She married Earl W. Werntz on
February 6, 1932 and he passed away in 1950. In July of 1966, she
married John Adams and he passed away in 1989. She was also
preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosetta Anderson.
Mrs. Adams is survived by a daughter, Sally Ann Young;
four sons, William (Ruth) Werntz and Thomas (Marilyn) Werntz all
of Mishawaka, Richard (Shirley) Werntz of South Bend and Teddy
(Rose) Werntz of Grove City, Ohio; her sister, Annie May Collins
of Mishawaka; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 17
great-great-grandchildren; a son in law, Doug Young; and her two
dogs, Susie and Mitzi. She was employed for more than 20 years at
Bendix and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles
Aerie #2083.
Friends may spend time with the family on
Thursday March 27, 2008 at Bubb Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. where a funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Burial
will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial
