SOUTH BEND - Joseph John Adamek, 84, of South Bend died
Tuesday, September 16 in Memorial Hospital. Joseph was born March
7, 1924, in South Bend to Michael and Marcella (Strzelecka)
Adamek who preceded him death along with a sister, Theresa. He
was married September 1, 1958, to Charlotte Mae Henkels.
She preceded him in death on May 3, 1992. Joseph attended South
Bend Central High School, was an Army Sergeant during World War
II, worked at Studebaker Corp, for 23 years and AM General for 22
years. He was a pillar in the community, and an usher at Little
Flower Church for 25 years. Surviving are three sons, Rene La'Chere'
of Port Orange, FL, Michael (Susan) and Frank of South Bend; five
grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Martha and
Clementine.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday Sept.
20 in Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood, South
Bend, IN 46635. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9
a.m. Saturday until services in Little Flower Church. Interment
will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.
Memorials may be made to the church. The HICKEY Funeral Home,
17131 Cleveland Road is in charge of arrangements.
