John P. Acito, 71, residing at 1250 Fairington Circle, South Bend, Ind., formerly of River Park, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Mr. Acito was born on April 9, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Ralph and Pasqueline LaManna Acito, and had lived in this community all of his life.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Jerry Acito.
John retired in 1993 from Raco following 27 years of service.
He is survived by two sisters, Rose Terry of South Bend and Mary Piazza of Davenport, Iowa; three nieces, Roberta Riddle of Mishawaka, Ind., Diane Botos of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Sandra Rockau of Davenport; and by five nephews, Jack Terry of Palatine, Ill., Dennis Terry of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ralph Acito of Dallas, Texas, John Acito of South Bend and Michael Acito of Aurora, Ill.
Mr. Acito was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Services for Mr. Acito will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Robert A. Yast will officiate.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the Palmer Funeral Home.
