Virginia L. "Jenny" Abbott, 71, of South Bend, Ind., passed away Saturday morning, March 8, in her residence. She was born March 25, 1931, in Mahan, W.Va., to the late David and Adilia (Walker) Jones.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Corbette Radcliffe; and by a nephew, Jessie Cowdery. She is survived by her children, Phyllis McFarlane (Daniel), Donna Melone (Herbert) of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Larry of South Bend; four grandchildren, Terry Dawn Allen, Melissa Wade (John), Troy and John McFarlane; four great-grandchildren, Shane Allen, Danielle Allen, Austin Wade and MacKenzie Wade of East Liverpool; four sisters, Jaunita Williams (Robert), Faye Cowdery, Macial Tracy Lynch and Delinia Kiger (Thomas) of East Liverpool; and by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Abbott cooked for many years at the Silver Tower Restaurant in South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to services. There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Abbott on Thursday, March 13, at the Salvation Army in East Liverpool. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of East Liverpool.
