Everett E Goodrich was born 1838 in
Delaware
County New York, son of John T Goodrich and Patty M (Brownell)
Goodrich.
Everett moved to Indiana with his family in 1851, first to Noble County
and
then to Steuben County in 1860. In 1862 Everett enrolled as a
private
in Company "H" of the 74th Indiana Volunteers from Orland, Indiana. He
was
missing in action at the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia and died nearly
a
year later at Andersonville Prison. His parents were farmers and
Everett
had hoped to take up farming with his father and brother, Silas, after
the
War.
