Golden Wedding: About 90
friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dauber, of Otsego
Township, met at their home to celebrate their Golden Wedding, Nov.14,
1903.
Marriages: Morris W. Friedley
of Devil’s Lake, N. Dakota m. Miss Emma Zabst on 18 Nov 1903; Myhl C.
Storey and Cora Bell Cary on 14 Nov 1903.
Fremont - Born Monday Nov 23,
to Wilber Young and wife a 9 pound boy. Several people attended
the funeral of James Richey in Kinderhook Sunday. Alma Baum went
to Ligonier Tuesday to visit her sister Mrs. Eugene Howe. Duane
Brownell, infant son of Edgar and Mary Brownell died at their home
north of town Friday 20 Nov 1903, age 1 year, 3 months and 21
days. Maud Lyon of Orland, accompanied by her sister Mrs. Will
McNickle of this place, left here Tuesday for Burr Oak, Michigan where
she was united in marriage with Mr. Sheldon, who is connected with the
flouring mills at Burr Oak.
Alvarado - Elton Gamber and
wife of W. Unity, visited her parents Edward Eyster and family last
Sunday. Henry Enfield goes this week to Alabama to spend the
winter with his brother Fred Enfield. Henry Stiefel a former
resident, now of Reading, visited his parents, A. Stiefel and family
last Sunday.
York - Born Saturday, 21 Nov
1903, to W. H. Stiefel and wife, a son. Frank Knisely and family
spent Sunday in Angola with his parents J. B. Knisely and wife.
Mrs. L. Longbrake of Findley, Ohio is visiting her sister, Mrs. John
Krider.
Nettle Lake - Lorenzo Dunham of
Angola aged 92 years visited his nephew John Dunham here last Thursday.
Russel Smith and wife of Spring Lake were guests of her mother Mrs.
Mary Walker, last Sunday. George Thompson, who has been sick
nearly all summer, departed this life last Thursday. Internment in
Columbia Cemetery.
Hamilton - H. Hamman’s baby,
which drank butter coloring causing its death, was buried here
Wednesday. Ernest Wright, who has had poor health for some time,
died Thursday morning, Nov 19, and was buried in Hamilton Cemetery
Saturday.
Orland - Invitations are out
for the marriage of Pearl Barrows and Ben Twichell to take place
Wednesday Nov 25th. A family reunion was enjoyed at the home of
Andrew Fuller in Gilead, Jerrard Fuller and son George of Oregon and
daughter, Mrs. Nettie Aldrich and Mrs. Julia Nash and husband, and Mrs.
Libbie Van Nuyce and husband were present.
Hudson - Born to Mr. and Mrs.
Perry Holden 18 Nov 1903, a daughter. After engineer Grant Wilson
and fireman George Scoville, of Ashley arrived in Detroit with their
train Saturday evening a flue burst in the engine, scalding Mr.
Scoville so that he died in two hours.
Lake Valley - Mrs. Gene Shufelt
and children of Orland were with her sister Mrs. F. Wolf and family
Sunday. David William, little son of Geo. and Edith M. Dreher
departed this life at their home in Salem 14 Nov 1903, age 1 year, 6
months and 29 days. Buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Flint - The Osterhout reunion
will be held this year on Thanksgiving Day at S. E. Ousterhout’s of
this place. Mrs. Simon Bowerman died Monday evening and the
funeral will be held Wednesday at Flint in the M. E. Church. John
Cleveland of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and A. C. Cleveland and wife of
Kendallville, IN are expected to spend Thanksgiving with their parents.
Pleasant Lake - Wm Teegardin
Jr. of Warsaw spent Sunday with his parents, Elisha Teegardin and wife.
Jamestown - Frank Harbaugh and
wife of Kinderhook formerly of Jamestown are caring for a little
daughter a week old.
Helmer - Tomorrow we eat
Turkey. Born to Mrs. Emma Holden 19 Nov 1903, a daughter.
