Metz - Doan Sommerlott, family and Mother visited last Sunday with our townsman,   John Sommerlott. A large number of relatives of Mrs. Fayette Barron called upon her last Saturday evening to remind her she had passed the 40th milestone.

Angola - Clarence Penner, north of town and Arminda Cole, of Scott Township have been granted a marriage license.   James Forrester lostone   of his horses last week.   Frank Sowle, who is about 93 yearsold,   is bedfast, caused from a hard fall five or six weeks ago.  Heinjured   his hip and it is now causing him much trouble. 

Flint
-  Mrs. S.E. Ousterhout is visiting her sister in Michigan.  A.V.Yoder and family visited Geo. Light and family Sunday.

Salem Center -   Bessie Woodford of Hudson is visiting with Frank Woodford. Born Saturday March 17, 1900 to Ellsworth Dewitt and wife, a son.  

Orland
-  Addie Hains is in Salem at the home of her brother caring for a new nephew.   A son and first child arrived at the home of Jay Fuller and wife on March 11, 1900.   Mrs. George Cleveland of Flint was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Roberts last week.  Born to Carl Jeffery and wife of Brushy Prairie, Indiana on March17, 1900, a son and first child. Blake Barrows of Illinois, a former resident of Orland, visited his brother John Barrows and family recently. This was his first visit in 30 years.   

Pleasant Lake
-   Mary Jane and Fred Blackman have been granted a pension.  Albert   Newell of Defiance, Ohio is visiting his brother Willis here.  Mrs. Brazilla Woodworth is staying with her daughter, Mrs. Belle Ueberin Ashley, a week or two.    

S. Jamestown
-  Luther Casebeer now lives in Nevada Mills .   Anna Wiggins is much better and is visiting her grandma, Mrs. Pifer. 

Hamilton
-  Oscar Douglas of near Benton Harbor, Michigan is visiting his niece, Mrs. John Jackman and family this week. Ina Farley is visiting hersister,   Mrs. F. P. Thomas and family at Auburn this week. Mrs. Freman Hamman died at her home three miles south of Hamilton March 14, 1900, age 26 years.    

Nevada Mills - Cecil Terry of Orland is spending his vacation among friendshere.  Mrs. Alma Rodgers and daughter Theo, went to Ray last week for a short visit.  Theo will stay a few weeks.  Mrs. Rogers was accompanied home by her niece Gula Hall.  Fremont - A.E. Masters was called home Monday.  His boy is sick with typhoid fever.

Hudson - Mrs. Ed Clark of Angola, spent Sunday with Geo. Fisher and family.  James Whysong went to Goshen last Saturday to visit his sister Mrs. Rutan.  Mrs. Josie Putt died at the home of her sisterMrs. Sadie Doty at Coldwater, Mi  March 15, 1900 of pneumonia.

Crooked Creek
- The family of Gerard Taylor is having the measles.  Stillman Collins,   wife and son Grover, spent a couple of days with her parents south of Orland. Little Fred Lemmon, son of Elder and Mrs. Sherman Lemmon born July 4, 1898,died at Fonda, Iowa March 10, 1900 of pneumonia.  His parents brought him to East Gilead for burial.  

York
- Ora Shook lost his horse one day last week. Lena Lint, of Fremont visited Sylvia Wicoff part of this week.
