Malvina Towsley Obituary
Steuben Republican
8 Sept 1920 p2c4
Melvina Reynolds, daughter of Bently and Mary Reynolds, was born in Yates county, New York, Feb. 20, 1832, and died August 29, 1920, at the advanced age of 88 years, six months and nine days.
She was the last of a family of thirteen children and came with her parents when a small child to Kinderhook Mich., hence her life has been that of a pioneer. April 15, 1849, she was married to Joseph Towsley, who died March 5, 1878, and during all of these years she remained a widow. Having no children of her own, she tenderly cared and raised three step children and one adopted son, Edgar Towsley, of Angola, and one grandson, Orla Towsley, of Toledo, Ohio. Early in life she accepted Christ, uniting with the Advent Christian church, and while in her declining years she was unable to attend her church, she retained her faith in God and did what she could.
Funeral services were held at the home of her niece, Mrs. Dell Miller, in Angola, August 31, 1920, conducted by Rev. Jacobs, of the M. E. church. Burial in Jamestown cemetery.
