ROBERT E. STAYNER from Herald Republican, November 29, 1995, pg 2A, col 3 Robert E. Stayner Feb. 7, 1906-Nov. 25, 1995 Robert E. Stayner, 89, Angola, died Saturday at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1906, in Jackson Township to Roy and Bertha Maugherman Stayner. Mr. Stayner was a farmer and a graduate of Flint High School. He worked for the Steuben County Highway Department, the State of Indiana Highway Department, and the parks and street departments for the City of Angola. He is survived by his wife, Helen Thomas Stayner, whom he married March 3, 1928; two sons, John L. of Hudson, and Roy C. Blythe, Calif; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Immel, and two brothers, Leon and Ora. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Jackson Township, with the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Cameron Hospice. ADDITIONAL NOTES: His father, Roy Stanley Stayner, was born 05 Jul 1880 and died 03 Jan 1958. His mother, Bertha (Maugherman) Stayner was born 19 Oct 1884 and died 27 Sep 1928. The parents are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Orland, Steuben County, Indiana. Brother, Leon Leroy Stayner, was born 27 Oct 1904 and died in Mar 1987 in California.
