Obituary
Milton Timothy Rose was born in
Granville,
Licking county, Ohio, April 7th, 1847.
He was the son of Luman P. and
Emeline Rose.
He first came to Orland, Ind.,
while his
father was pastor of the Congregational church and he became
acquainted with
Eva A. Wilder to whom he was married on February 21st, 1877.
Their happy
married life was spent at the beautiful farm home where he died
July 29th,
1908, aged 61 years, 7 months, 22 days.
He leaves a wife [Eva Alida
Wilder], an aged
father [Rev. Luman Parsons Rose], one sister, Mrs. W.A. Cool,
Cleveland, Ohio,
and one brother Clarence L. Rose, of Spokane, Washington,
besides many other
friends to mourn for him until the meeting in the better land
where no partings
ever come.
His extreme sufferings have been
borne with
patience and fortitude and the prayer of his aged father that
the closing hours
of his life might be peaceful was answered and it seemed that
"angels led
him where he went." Shortly before his death he remarked that if
he had
done good to anyone he was thankful for it, and if any wrong, he
was
exceedingly sorry, and that was all the obituary he desired, so,
no attempt
will be made to chronicle his Superior qualities. His life book
was an open
one, he daily turned the pages and we have read.
Today as his friends and neighbors
mingle
their tears of sympathy with his family the words of the post
can best express
the thoughts in each heart:
"The pains of earth are past,
Labor and sorrow cease
And life's long warfare closed at
last.
His soul is found in peace
Soldier of Christ! well done;
Praise be the new employ:
And while eternal ages run
Rest in thy Saviors joy."
