MARTHA RAKESTRAW
ANGOLA - Martha M. Rakestraw, 93, died Tuesday at 11:37 a.m. in Lakeland Nursing Center.
She was a cook at the Glass House on the Indiana Toll Road,
Clay's Country
Kitchen, and Pokagon State Park. She was a member of Pleasant
Lake United
Methodist Church, Home Economics Club, Tote Your Share Club, and
Violet Club.
She was a 50-year member and past matron of the Pleasant Lake
Eastern Star, and
a charter member of the Angola American Legion Auxiliary.
On July 21, 1900, in Angola she was born to John and Maggie
(Wilsey) Berlien.
She is survived by three sons, James Wood of Rowley, Mass.,
Harold Wood of
Bakersfield, Calif., and Thomas Rakestraw of Mary Esther, Fla.;
one daughter,
Susan Hagerty of Angola; two sisters, Grace Ireland of Franklin,
Mass., and
Vada Seeman of Angola; nine grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and one
great-great granddaughter.
