Willard Wayne Purdy, 20, who lived at the Fort
Wayne YMCA, died
at 12:50 p.m. Sunday at the Lutheran Hospital from injuries
received six weeks
ago in an automobile accident five miles east of Huntington. He
suffered head
injuries and had been seriously ill for the past week. He was
born in
Huntington and had lived in Fort Wayne the past two months,
being employed by
the International Harvester Company. He was a member of the
Methodist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Mrs. Zelma Purdy, Fort Wayne, and
William Purdy,
Huntington; two sisters, Miss Phyllis, Huntington and Mrs. Felix
A. Jenisch,
Pittsfield, N. H., and a brother, Charles, with the Army in
China. The body was
removed to the Julian Schone Funeral Home. (cut off)
