Mrs. Mary Ann Powers
Mrs. Mary Ann Powers died February 7, 1883, of disease of the
heart, in California, Branch County, Mich., aged 74 years. Her
remains were taken to the Powers' settlement, and interred in the
family burying place last Friday. At the time of her death she was
with her daughter, Mrs. Hamer, but she formerly lived in Orland and
was a member of the Methodist church in this place. She retained her
reason to the last, and died in full faith of a glorious immortality
beyond the grave. A number of her children survive her, to mourn the
loss of an affectionate mother.
