STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 1904, page 1, column 7 CAROLINE F. (NICHOLS) WARNER NICHOLS, 06 Jun 1832 - 16 Mar 1904 Caroline F. Nichols was born in Delaware county, Ohio, June 6, 1832, and died at hr home in Angola, Ind., March 16, 1904, aged 71 years, 9 months and 10 days. In 1853, deceased moved to Hillsdale county, Michigan, where in 1859 she was married to Reuben Warner. Their home was near Delaware, Ohio, until the death of her husband in 1872. Returning then to Michigan she made her home at Camden until 1886, when she was married to Elias E. Nichols, of Angola. Since that time her home has been in Angola. A loving mother, faithful sister, kind neighbor and devoted christian has fallen asleep and her loss will be keenly felt. One daughter, three grandchildren, one brother and sister are left to mourn. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. G. Neal, at the Methodist church, and burial at Powers cemetery in York township. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION; Caroline F. (Nichols) Warner Nichols, 06 Jun 1832 - 16 Mar 1904, married 1st, Reuben Warner who died 05 Feb 1872 (39y.9m.9d). They are buried at Powers Cemetery, York Township, Steuben Coounty, Indiana. A possible daughter is Florence (Warner) Woodring, 1864 - 1949, who married C. W. Woodring. Florence is buried at Powers Cemetery with infant son who died 30 Jan 1887. C. W.'s burial place unknown. Caroline married 2nd, Elias E. Nichols, 28 Feb 1826 - 19 May 1901. Elias is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. His obituary lists his 2nd wife as Caroline Warner which was mistaken for her maiden name. The cemetery book lists her maiden name as Nichols. Elias' 1st wife was Matilda (Stanley) Nichols who died 06 Feb 1883 (61y.11m.16d.) Matilda is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
