STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17, 1903, pager 1, column 7 CATHERINE (CAIN) MYERS, 08 Apr 1844 - 11 Jun 1903 Catherine Cain, wife of Thomas J. Myers, was born in Williams county, Ohio, April 8, 1844, and died at her home near Nevada Mills, Indiana, June 11, 1903, aged 59 years, two months and three days. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Myers, July 21, 1865. She leaves a husband, four sons and four daughters, five brothers, ten sisters and nine grandchildren, to mourn her departure, one daughter having died in infancy. She became a member of the M. E. church at Nevada Mills, in 1893. She has been a good, faithful wife and mother, all through life. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and neighbors. Although severely afflicted for some time past, she has shown her Christian character and faith, and assured those who cared for her that she was prepared for her eternal home. She was a patient sufferer and bore her trials and afflictions in this life without complaint. The tie that bound the family together has now been severed, and her children can say, "What is home without a mother?" Mattie (Myers) Swartzwalter, 1876 - 1923, married Edward Swartzwalter, 1878 - 1972, buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Steuben County, Indiana. Emma E. (Myers), 1877 - 1947, married Curtis Canon, 1882 - 1948, buried at Wright Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Clyde Myers, 1878 - 04 Feb 1959, buried at Jamestown Cemetery. SIBLINGS OF CATHERINE (CAIN) MYERS: Sarah Ann (Cain) Anspaugh, born 11 Oct 1830 - 24 Jun 1932, (aged 101 years, 8 months and 13 days, on 27 Apr 1847, married John Anspaugh, 18 Jun 1820 - 05 Jun 1904, son of Jacob Anspaugh who died in Oct 1857, aged 88 years, and Barbara Anspaugh who died 03 Oct 1874, aged 87 years. Sarah and John are buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Julia Ann (Cain) Coon. Mrs. Rachel (Cain) Anspaugh. Mrs. Delila (Cain) Owens. John Cain, a member of the 14th Ohio Infantry, killed at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mrs. Margaret (Cain) Dick. Mrs. Lucinda (Cain) Matthews. Mrs. Ellen (Cain) Knapp. Samuel Cain. Elizabeth Cain. Henry Cain, deceased. After her mother died in June 1852, her father married Rachel (Meeks) Cain, in Williams County, Ohio.
