WILLIAM MEEK
Son of David and Ruth Meek, was born April 9, 1845,
in Richland county, Ohio, and died at his mone in Pleasant township, Steuben
county, May 12th, 1910, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 3 days. He with
his parents came to Salem township, Steuben county, at the early age of
15 years and there grew to manhood. In 1867 he was united in marriage to
Susan Schneider of Salem, who shared his joys and sorrows through life.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his beloved wife, three sons - George, Norman
and Ray, two daughters, Pearl and Flossie, a little grand-daughter, Gladys
Meek, one brother, Joseph Meek, and two sisters, Mrs. Minerva Wideup, of
Columbia City, Ind., and Mrs. Della Jones of Mancelona, Mich. Two daughters
and infant son preceded him to the better land. In 1868 he was converted
to Christ, and later baptized and has lived a Christian life ever since.
He was a loving husband, a kind father and a good neighbor and will be greatly
missed in the home and community
Funeral services were conducted
by Elder Vernon Stauffer in Silver Lake Chapel, Sunday, May 15th. Burial
in Trinity cemetery.
