STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 1903, page 4, column 4 MARGARET (HENDERSHOTT) MARKHAM, 05 Sep 1830 - 19 Mar 1903 Margaret Hendershott was born Sept. 5, 1830; died March 19, 1903, aged 72 years, 6 months and 7 days (14 days?). She was born in New Jersey and when a mere child moved with her parents to Oakfield, Genessee county, N. Y., where she remained until 1857, when she was united in marriage with William Markham, of Monnroe county. To this union were born three children, two of whom died in infancy. In 1864 with her husband and little daughter Cora, she moved to Michigan, near Bronson, where she remained until 1872, then settling on the farm where she died. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Cora Taylor, of Jamestown, two grandchildren, one sister, one brother, three nieces, six nephews and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Funeral at Jamestown, Sunday, March 22, Rev. Dyer officiating. Burial at Mallory cemetery. Perhaps the Mallory cemetery mentioned in the obit was at one time named after the Mallory's of Jamestown Township. Daughter, Cora Elizabeth (Markham) Taylor, 11 Apr 1864 - 08 Apr 1934, married Gerard Taylor, 1855 - 1955. They are buried at Jamestown Township.
