MILLARD C. LETTS
The youngest of four sons and one daughter of Edgar [sic]* and Mary Letts,
was born in Huron county, Ohio, August 8, 1850, and died at his home near
Fremont, January 8, 1924, at the age of 73 years and 5 months.
When six years of age he came with his parents to Steuben county, settling
in Scott township, where he grew to manhood.
On February 17, 1875, he was united in marriage to Mertilla Scritchfield
[sic].**.
To this union were born three daughters and two sons, one daughter and one
son having preceded him to the beyond, the wife on June 9, 1916, from which
time he has made his home with his son, Clyde, and family.
He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Loose, of Tehonsha,
Mich.,
Mrs. Ernest Parrish of Fremont, Ind.; one son, Clyde Letts, of Fremont,
Ind..;
fourteen grandchildren and three great grand children and a large circle
of
other relatives and friends.
He was especially interested in his family, greatly desirous that his children
should become good citizens. He was highly respected in his community,
generous hearted and loved by all. He was always ready in sickness and
death with a free and willing hand and will be remembered by many.
The funeral services were from the home of Clyde Letts in Jamestown,
Rev. O. N. Braun officiating.
*Millard's father's name was Edward. Edgar was one of Millard's brothers.
