                            EMMA L. HOYER
    "Emma L. Hoyer 84, of Route 1, Pleasant Lake, died at 11:30 p.m. at the
Elmhurst hospital where she had been a patient five days after suffering a
cerebral hemorrhage.
    Mrs. Hoyer was born February 7, 1879 near Pleasant Lake and she resided in
that area all of her lifetime.  She was the daughter of Hosea and Elizabeth
Wilcox Dayhuff.
    She and Hayes W. Hoyer were united in marriage on December 24, 1902.  They
spent the first seven years of their married life in Steuben township and the
past fifty-three years had lived at their present farm home in Salem
township. Last December 23 the couple observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary with 
anopen house reception at their home.
    Surviving are the husband; five sons, Wymond and Basil of near Angola; Ray 
ofHelmer; Wayne of near Corunna and Jay near Pleasant Lake; three daughters, 
Mrs.LaMar (Doris) Grate of Auburn; Mrs. John (Faye) Silver of Stroh and Mrs. 
Robert(Zema) Berlien of Angola; 25 grand children and 22 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral seravices with the Ristler funeral home in charge were conducated at
the Mt. Zion EUB church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lewis Strong, pastor
ofthe Mt. Zion church.  Interment followed in the church cemetery."
