RUTH HINTZ
ANGOLA - Ruth Hintz, 88, died Friday at 12:15
a.m. in Cameron
Memorial Hospital.
The Willoughby, Ohio, native resided in Angola for 43 years. She
was a cook for
several years at Carlin Park Elementary School and Elmhurst
Hospital (Cameron's
fore-runner). She was a member of First Congregational Church of
Angola, Women
Guild, Women Aglow, and Angola Chapter 78 Order of Eastern Star,
where she was
a past matron.
She was born Aug. 6, 1905 in Dunkirk, N. Y., to Walter and
Elizabeth (Digby)
Strickland.
On Dec. 23, 1927, she married Wilbur Hintz. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Walter of Wickliffe, Ohio, and
Donald Chowchilla,
Calif.; one daughter, Mary Jane Gundy of Angola; one sister,
Helen Morris of
Daytona Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Herb, Walter, George
and Keith
Strickland.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Weicht Funeral
Home in Angola.
An Eastern Star service will be held in the funeral home at 6:30
p.m. Sunday.
Graveside services will be at Circle Hill Cemetery Monday at 10
a.m. to be
followed by a memorial service at First Congregational Church of
Angola. The
Rev. David Bowman will officiate.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Diabetes Association.
