Steuben-Republican October or November 1895

        At the home of his son, Ernest C. Herrick, Salem Center, October 
15, 1895, of heart failure, Clinton J. Herrick, aged 74 years, 5 months 
and 29 days. Deceased was born in Portage County, Ohio, in 1821.  At the 
age of five years he moved with his parents to Missouri.  He lived in 
the west until he was twenty one years old, when he moved back to Ohio.  
In 1866, he moved to Steuben County, Indiana, where he resided until his 
death.  Three children survive to mourn the loss of a kind and loving 
father.  He was a true friend to all.
