THANKFUL (HOTCHKISS) HENDRY, 05 Aug 1809 - 12 Nov 1902

   Thankful Hotchkiss was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, Aug. 5, 1809, 
and after a brief illness, died at the home of her daughter, near 
Angola, Nov. 12, 1902, aged 93 years, 3 months and 7 days.
   In Ashtabula, Ohio, April 8, 1830, she and George Hendry were 
united in marriage, and to this union were born six children.  The 
husband and three children preceded her to the grave.  Those 
remaining are L. A. Hendry and Mrs. Henry Jackson, of Angola, and 
Mrs. C. H. Barr, of Lamoni, Iowa. Deceased was a member of the 
Baptist church upwards of fifty years, and a firm believer in the 
Lord and Master.  She was a loving and affectionate mother.  The 
blessed hope sustains those who are left to mourn.  Funeral 
services were held Friday, at the home of her daughter, Prof. L. M. 
Fairfield, officiating.  Burial in Hendry cemetery.

   Thankful (Hotchkiss) Hendry, 05 Aug 1809 - 12 Nov 1902, was the 
daughter of Joseph Hotchkiss, 17 Mar 1773 - 27 Feb 1825, who, on 30 Jun 
1796, married Rhoda (Smith) Hotchkiss, 02 Apr 1768 - 14 Jul 1852.  
Thankful married George Hendry, 22 Apr 1804 - 02 Jan 1891.  Cemetery book 
says buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.

CHILDREN:

   Marsden D. Hendry, 13 Feb 1831 - 13 Dec 1851, married Marcia M. (Barr) 
Hendry, May 1833 - 07 Apr 1855, aged 21 years and 11 months.  Buried at 
Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Lewis Alonzo Hendry, 15 Nov 1835 - 1922, on 23 Aug 1861, married 1st 
Catherine A. (Jackson) Hendry, 08 Mar 1843 - 11 Mar 1865, daughter of 
Robert L. and Catharine Jackson.  On 23 May 1865, he married 2nd Chloe 
(Moss) Hendry, 1836 - 1911.  Lewis and both wives are buried at Circle 
Hill Cemetery.
   Elmina (Hendry) Jackson, 1838 - 1924, married William Henry Jackson, 
1839 - 1927.  They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   William T. Hendry, 30 Aug 1841 - 26 Jun 1901, buried at Circle Hill 
Cemetery.
   Elzina (Hendry) Barr, married C. H. Barr, Lamoni, Iowa.  No other 
information.
