HENDRY, Samuel Steuben Republican 20 Apr 1861, P.3 clm. 1 Suddenly in Angola on the 12th inst., Samuel Hendry, at the advanced age of 83 years. The deceased was born at Albany, New York. He afterwards migrated to Erie county, in the western part of the state near Buffalo, while that comparatively a wilderness, where he resided during the late war with Great Britain and was called out with the minute men of that vicinity for the defense of Buffalo and adjacent parts. Having a family of nine children, (all of whom are now living,) desirous of providing them with homes, he removed to the Western Reserve, Ohio, where he continued to live till 1851. Since which time he has resided with his son A.W. Hendry of this place.
