STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, 1900, page 4, column 3 HENRY HASKINS, 19 Apr 1815 - 08 Jun 1900 DIED at his home two and one half miles north of Angola, Steuben county, Indiana, Jun 8, 1900, Henry Haskins, aged 85 years, 1 month and 20 days. Henry Haskins was born in the town of Hardwick, Worcester county, Mass., April 19, 1815. H was married to Abigal Clark, March 19, 1834, and to them were born two children, one son and a daughter, both of whom are dead. On April 30, 1845, he was again united in marriage to Lucinda Clark, who died Nov. 9th, 1892. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, one son, living at Tampa, Florida, and the daughter, who lived with him, survive him. He enlisted in the 9th Ind. Inf., Feb. 28, 1862, and was discharged in March 1863. He again enlisted in the 12th Indiana cavalry, Jan. 11, 1864, and served until April 20, 1865. Funeral at the Christian church in Angola, Saturday, June 9th, under the auspices of the G. A. R., Elder C. S. Medbury officiating.
