STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1903 page 3, column 2 GEORGE HARVEY HARMAN, 09 Mar 1826 - 07 Nov 1903 George Harvey Harman was born in Seneca county, Ohio, March 9, 1826, and died at his home in Scott township, Steuben County, Nov. 7, 1903, aged 77 years, 7 months and 28 days. Oct. 12, 1849, Mr. Harman was united in marriage with Eliza Evey, of Wyandotte County, Ohio. To this union were born five children, but only one daughter, Mrs. Wm. S. Cole, survives. Deceased moved from Ohio to the Scott township farm in September, 1853, and for more than half a century has stood identified with the substantial interests of our county life. He has been a member of Angola Lodge I. O. O. F. for nearly 41 years, being the oldest member in point of age and second in length of membership. Funeral at his late home, Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 10, Elder C. S. Medbury officiating. The Odd Fellows attended the services in large numbers as a deserved tribute to the deceased. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. "Cemeteries of Steuben County, Indiana, 1990" by Audree Seibel Lewis, by Eliza's entry has a handwritten note, "1st wife". CHILDREN: Ella Jane Harman, died 19 Sep 1854, aged 26 days, buried at Old Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Charlie D. Harman, died 04 Sep 1865, aged 5 months and 26 days, buried at Old Angola Cemetery. Alberta Belle (Harman) Cole, 20 Nov 1866 - 04 Mar 1909, on 25 Aug 1887, became the 1st wife of William S. Cole, 22 Dec 1862 - 07 Jun 1926. He was the son of Cyrus V., 1836 - 1907, and Janette A. (Elliott) Cole, 1835 - 1896. They are all buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. William S. Cole's 2nd wife was Ora (Rice) Beard Cole, widow of George M. Beard. There is a Zoe Harman buried on the lot of George and Eliza (Evey) Harman.
