Joseph Harbaugh
Was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, April 4, 1826. At the
age of
sixteen, he moved with his parents to Hancock county, Ohio.
In the spring
of 1864 he enlisted and on his return at the close of the war was
married to
Lucinda Shupe, Nov. 10, 1865. They resided at his old home for
seventeen
years, then moved to Branch Co., Mich, where with the exception of
three
years spent in Nebraska, they lived until about twelve years ago when
they
came to Steuben county, Indiana, where he spent the remainder of his
life.
He died at this late home in Jamestown township, June 28, 1907, at the
age
of 81 years, 2 months and 14 days. He was one of a family of ten
children
and leaves one brother, Abram, who lives at Findlay, Ohio. He was
the
father of twelve children, nine of whom, with his wife and nineteen
grandchildren remain to mourn their loss, two sons having died in
infancy,
and one daughter, Mrs. Lydia Brown, who died at the age of twenty-nine
years.
