STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1903, page 8, column 5 NANCY (HATHAWAY) HALL, 07 Nov 1828 - 05 Aug 1903 Nancy Hathaway was born in Washington county, Pa., November 7, 1828. She departed this life August 5, 1903, aged 74 years, 8 months 28 days. When eight years old she removed with her parents to Ohio where she resided until 1850, when she came with her husband to Indiana where she lived until her death. In 1848 she was married to Henry Hall. She leaves her husband, an only daughter, and a grandson, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Mrs. Hall became a christian early in life, uniting with the M. E. church, remaining in that communion until her death. She was a charter member of the M. E. church at York, where she was a member when she died. Always living a consistent christian life, she was loved and revered by all who knew her. Although suffering greatly for many weeks from her disease, she retained unshaken confidence in the goodness of God. A few hours before her death she shouted praises to her Master, passing away in peace. She is gone from among us, but we trust her memory will continue to influence many lives for good. Funeral at York, Aug. 7. Interment at Angola. Rev. P. H. Walter, pastor and officiating minister.
