GRIFFIN, JOHN N.
        John N. Griffin was born near Butler, DeKalb county, Indiana,
February 6, 1865, and departed this life on march 1, 1924, age 59 years
and 24 days.  Whe but two years of age, he came with his parents to
Steuben county.  They settled about three miles west of Angola, in which
community he lived nearly his entire life.  On April 6, 1896, he ws
united in marriage to Miss Sallie Hill, of Perkinsville, Madisioin
county, Indiana.  To this union were born three children, tow sons and a
daughter, Cornish, Edward and Ruby, who with their mother are left to
mourn the departure of a father and husband.  They did all that loving
hands could do to bring comfort through his prolonged sickness and
suffering.  also two brothrs and a sister are left behind while he has
gone to that real of light where no weary night of suffering can ever
come.
        He was converted in a revival meeting held in the old Mount Zion
church by Rev. J. Brown, in February, 1878, and became a member of the U.
B. church.  His work in the church was largely with the Sunday school
association for many years.  He lived faithful to the church until his
Master called him to high service.
        The funeral was held at Mount Zion church.
